Maryam Nawaz, while addressing a university, stated that in the first phase, 40,000 laptops will be distributed to students for free, and this number will later be increased to 100,000.
In her speech, she mentioned that she personally selected high-quality laptops, and the first shipment has already arrived. Those who are selected will receive the laptops directly from Maryam Nawaz herself.
If you use a laptop for your university work and cannot afford to buy one, you can participate in this scheme. If you get selected, you can receive a brand-new laptop free of cost.
Who is eligible for this Scheme?
Now, let me explain whether you are eligible for this laptop scheme or not. The complete eligibility criteria are as follows:
- If the university or college you are studying at is approved by the HEC (Higher Education Commission), then you are eligible for the laptop.
- Should not be older than 22 years on the closing date.
- Family’s monthly income must be less than Rs. 300,000 (requires an affidavit, sample available for download).
- Applicant must be enrolled in selected disciplines at selected universities/colleges for the fall session of 2024.
- Students already enrolled in the 1st year of MBBS and BDS in 2024 are also eligible.
Minimum marks required in FSc/Intermediate:
- Public Medical and Dental Colleges: 80% or higher.
- Federal and Private Universities:
- 70% or higher for Science disciplines.
- 65% or higher for Arts and Social Sciences.
- Public Sector Universities:
- 70% or higher for Science disciplines.
- 65% or higher for Arts and Social Sciences.
- HED Colleges:
- 65% or higher for Science disciplines.
- 60% or higher for Arts and Social Sciences.
